Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions for the Figma plugin, WordPress plugin, and export flow. If your problem isn’t listed, contact support with your plan and steps to reproduce.
Figma Plugin
Figma plugin issues
Problems in the Figma plugin usually relate to selection, authentication, or export limits.
Export button is disabled
Only a single frame can be exported. If nothing is selected or you have multiple layers selected, the export button stays disabled. Solution: Select one top-level frame and try again.
Plugin not syncing or “Not connected”
Usually an authentication or network issue. Solution: Check your API token in plugin settings (paste it again from Figmentor Studio). Ensure you have internet access and that Figmentor services are reachable. Restart the plugin or reload Figma.
Export fails with an error message
Complex layouts, unsupported elements, or very large frames can cause failures. Solution: Simplify the selection (export a smaller section), ensure layers use supported naming (Naming Layers), and avoid unsupported effects. If the error persists, try a minimal frame to confirm the plugin works.
Usage not updating after export
Usage is synced from Figmentor Studio. Solution: Use “Refresh” or “Sync” in the plugin, or open the Figmentor Studio Dashboard to see current usage. If it’s still wrong, wait a few minutes and refresh again; if it persists, contact support.
API & account
API token and account
“Invalid token” or “Unauthorized”
The token may be wrong, copied with extra spaces, or revoked. Solution: In API Token Setup, generate a new token, copy it without leading/trailing spaces, and paste it into both the Figma and WordPress plugins. Regenerate if the token was shared or exposed.
“Export limit reached” or “Plan limit exceeded”
Your plan’s monthly export allowance is used. Solution: Wait until the next billing cycle (Starter/Pro) or upgrade your plan. See Plan Limits for usage and optimization tips.
WordPress & Elementor
WordPress plugin and import
Import fails in Elementor
Ensure you’re using a compatible Elementor version and that the JSON was exported from Figmentor (not edited in a way that breaks the structure). Solution: Update Elementor and the Figmentor WordPress plugin. Try importing the JSON via Elementor’s Template Library import or the method described in Quick Start.
Design looks different in Elementor than in Figma
Some Figma properties don’t map 1:1 to Elementor (e.g. advanced effects, custom fonts not available in WordPress). Solution: Follow Styles & Properties and Auto Layout guidelines. Use standard fonts or add the same fonts in WordPress. Tweak spacing, colors, or typography in Elementor after import where needed.
WordPress plugin doesn’t show usage or sync
Same as Figma: token and network. Solution: Re-enter your API token in the WordPress plugin settings. Check that your site can reach Figmentor (no firewall blocking outbound requests). Refresh the plugin or reload the admin page.
